"Made In Germany" was a real musical transformation for AMON DUUL II and a wonderful progressive album creating the first "Kraut Musical". Told over 2 LP's, this is a sort of dark story of German history put to a slight vaudevillian/cabaret vibe with all that strange DUUL'ish characteristics still intact.

Amon Duul II released over 15 studio albums during their career, including such celebrated landmarks of Krautrock as 's Phallus Dei, and 's Tanz Der Lemminge. Their studio release Made In Germany is a similar pinnacle of the genre, though frequently overlooked among their discography.

Amon Düül II's drummer, Peter Leopold, died on 8 November A memorial service was held for Leopold in Munich, where the remaining members of Amon Düül II sang a song for him. Leopold was replaced by multi-instrumentalist Daniel Fichelscher, for many years guitarist and drummer of Krautrock group Popol Vuh. [8].

'Made In Germany' does, however have the band stepping in a new direction/5(13).
